Partner, FRP
Dan has over 20 years’ experience in the restructuring industry and leads FRP’s Financial Services and Regulatory practice. He maintains strong working relationships with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS), as well as regulated firms and their advisors.
Prior to joining FRP, Dan spent seven years working for the FCA in its specialist supervision division, focusing on financial resilience challenges and periods of decline in regulated firms. Whilst at the FCA, amongst other things, Dan led and delivered the resolution strategy approach for failing or failed IFA practices, and also for non-standard investments/mini-bonds, working closely with the regulated firms, their advisors and the FSCS to seek positive outcomes for all stakeholders.
Recently Dan has led the Special Administration of Xpress Money Services Limited, which included receiving approval from the High Court of Justice of the first Distribution Plan under the new Payment and Electronic Money Institution Insolvency Regulations (2021). During his career, Dan managed the underperformance of a high-profile payments service provider, where he worked alongside multiple internal and external stakeholders to guide a solvent wind-down and delivered a successful outcome for over 4 million consumers. He also led the FCA’s involvement in the special administration of a wealth management firm with over £1 billion of custody assets and £130 million of client money.
Dan is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and a licensed insolvency practitioner.
