Partner, Restructuring and Recovery, Evelyn Partners
Adam is a partner at Evelyn Partners (formerly known as Smith & Williamson). He is an experienced restructuring specialist and licenced insolvency practitioner (taking appointments for 10+ years).
He has specialised in several sectors: financial services, not for profit, defined benefit pension scheme circumstances and contentious insolvency. However, like many R3 people reading this he has been involved in a vast variety of other sectors.
He leads Evelyn Partners work for the Charity Commission interim manager work (5 so far). He has worked in a vast variety of not for profit situations (he prefers to use this term, rather than saying charities). This includes restructurings, refinances, pre-pack admin sales, insolvent shut downs and solvent shut downs. It also intersects with many different legal structures (a particular feature of this sector). His more prominent roles include Hasting Pier Charity (which involved liaison with the then current Home Secretary, Amber Rudd), and Sussex Royal (the charity of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, ie Prince Harry and Meghan).
He has previously won Insolvency Practitioner of the Year, and this was mainly due to his work saving well over 1,000 jobs, and 150,000 nursery places for a charity
Previous to becoming an accountant, he was an academic chemist at Oxford University and has a doctorate. He also cofounded Evelyn Partners LGBTQ+ network, of which he is particularly proud. He is delighted to be attending R3 in Venice and speaking.
