Forging global pathways: UK insolvency and restructuring in a post-Brexit world

R3’s 2024 Annual Conference will take place at the beautiful Fairmont Hotel located in St Andrews. This year’s conference theme ‘Forging global pathways: UK insolvency and restructuring in a post-Brexit world’ will explore global economic trends and the role and shape of the eco-system for insolvency and restructuring in an inter-connected world. The programme will also explore the potential pathways these create for firms and professionals at every stage of their career.

Programme highlights:

Keynote - We’re delighted to announce that The Rt Hon Lord David Triesman will be our keynote speaker. With an extensive career he will be able to give an excellent overview of the geo-political picture of the UK and its place in the EU and beyond. As the UK is potentially facing imminent political and government change Lord Triesman will provide plenty of powerful insights.

Class of 2024 - Short, sharp, TED-style presentations interspersed throughout the programme with ten speakers overall. These sessions will provide an opportunity to showcase new and emerging talent, with each speaker presenting on a different relevant topic, either technical or career based.

State of the profession - This session will draw on new R3 research exploring how the profession has evolved in recent years and understanding what it means to be an IP or restructuring professional working in the profession today. The session will set the scene for discussing the opportunities and challenges for individuals and firms in the coming years and how we can adapt and shape these towards a positive future.

International symposium - Attendees will be able to attend workshops that focus on either the home nations, the UK and Europe or the UK and wider world. These discussions will come together to give key takeaways on pathways for the UK insolvency and restructuring profession.

Forging bonds through activities

As well as engaging technical sessions there will also be an exciting range of social and networking activities bringing delegates together. These include Highland Games, onsite golf, a welcome reception, gala dinner and Ceilidh. The conference will host around 250 delegates from across the UK’s leading insolvency and restructuring profession.
