Duncan Beach was appointed Chief Executive Officer of The Insolvency Service on 5 January 2026.
Duncan joined The Insolvency Service from HSBC, where he was Managing Director and Global Head of Transformation for Risk and Compliance, leading change and innovation across a global function of approximately 13,000 people. He has over 20 years’ experience delivering strategic change across large, complex organisations within financial services, with expertise in financial crime prevention, regulatory change, operational excellence and leveraging technology including generative AI.
Outside of work, he is a keen runner and has completed several ultramarathons in the UK and Europe.
Duncan joins The Insolvency Service as they prepare to launch their new strategy, which will set out their ambitions to strengthen their role as the UK’s leading authority for corporate and insolvency standards. This will include transforming into a digital-first organisation, expanding capabilities to tackle economic crime, and continuing to deliver excellent services.
